I start each day with gratitude

Anonymous

I start each day writing out a gratitude list. It only takes about 5 minutes, but it starts my day off in the right mental attitude.

Writing out the list also makes me happy because it’s impossible to be grateful and sad at the same time.

The Gratitude Habit

  • 1. Wake up

  • 2. Grab a Coffee

  • 3. Grab a notebook and a pen

  • 4. Spend 5 minutes writing out all the things you’re grateful for

Do this for seven consecutive days and see if your mornings don’t start off happier and more grounded.

My bet is this is a habit you’ll want to keep.

But what’s this got to do with writing?

A grateful mind is a calm mind.

A calm mind makes writing easy and joyful.

Don’t believe me? Try writing your book when you’re really upset.

Then compare that with how easy writing is when you’re grateful and calm.

I know which one I’ll pick 100 times out of 100. How about you?
